Managing Picture Albums

This section will go over how to add, edit, and delete picture albums on the detachment website as well as how to delete individual photos from an album, how to add additional photos to an album, and how to add captions to the photos in an album.

Adding Albums

  1. On the PA database area, under the "Pictures Options" heading, click the "Add A Pictures Album" link.
  2. On this next page, enter the album name, a description of the album, and the date you are creating the album in the YYYY-MM-DD format.
  3. When you are done filling in the text boxes, press the "Submit" button.
  4. On the next page that comes up, press the "Click here to upload photos" link.
  5. On the next page that comes up you can either browse your computer or drag and drop photos to the album. If you are browsing the computer, click the plus button to add the picture to the queue. Once you are ready to upload the pictures, click the up arrow at the bottom and the pictures will upload. Once the uploading has completed the number next to the green check (above the drop photos area) will increment.

Editing Albums

  1. On the PA database area, under the "Pictures Options" heading, click the "Edit An Album" link.
  2. Click the link for the album you want to edit.
  3. On the page that comes up you can change the album name, the description of the album, and the date the album was created/update (make sure to use the YYYY-MM-DD format).
  4. When you are done changing the information in the text boxes, press the "Submit" button.

Deleting Albums And Individual Photos

  1. On the PA database area, under the "Pictures Options" heading, click the "Remove Pictures" link.
  2. To delete an entire album, click the "Delete" link next to the album you want to remove. The album is now deleted; there is no confirmation step.
  3. To delete individual photos from an album, click on the album from which you want to remove individual photos.
  4. Click the check boxes next to the photos you want to delete.
  5. Press the "Submit" button when you are finished.

Adding Pictures To An Already Existing Album

  1. On the PA database area, under the "Pictures Options" heading, click the "Upload Pictures" link.
  2. Click on the album to which you would like to add additional pictures.
  3. On the next page that comes up you can either browse your computer or drag and drop photos to the album. If you are browsing the computer, click the plus button to add the picture to the queue. Once you are ready to upload the pictures, click the up arrow at the bottom and the pictures will upload. Once the uploading has completed the number next to the green check (above the drop photos area) will increment.

Adding/Editing Captions To The Photos In An Album

  1. On the PA database area, under the "Pictures Options" heading, click the "Add/Edit Captions" link.
  2. Click on the album for which you would like to add or edit captions.
  3. Type you comments in the text box next to each photo.
  4. When you are finished typing captions, scroll down to the bottom of the page and press the "Submit" button to save your work.
