Create a New Page
From KnodbergWiki
The advantage to creating a page is the flexibility and ease of creating pages without knowing detailed coding. This section will cover how to create a page, but in a later section it will explain how to edit or delete a page.
Necessary Parts
- Computer with access to detachment website
- Ability to use Microsoft Word
Setting Up a New Page
- Log in to the CGCC database area.
- Scroll down to the Page Management area.
- Click “Create A New Page.”
- A box that looks similar to Microsoft Word will appear.
- Enter what you want the page to be titled. This will appear at the top of the page when selected on the website.
- Enter what you would like the page to be identified as. This will be what the website will use to create the navigation link. (Keep this short, try not to use spaces (use “-“ or “_” instead).
- Input desired information into the body of the template. You are able to format the body how you wish; add color, links, bullets and content.
- A. To add colors by selecting the text that you want to color and hit the “color text” box.
- B. To add bullets, highlight the section that you would like to have bullets and select the option next to the text alignment.
- C. To ensure that lines are next to each other when you enter, hold the shift key as you enter. If this is not done then there will be a space.
- D. To add a hyperlink you need to highlight the word or phrase that you would like to hyperlink and push the Hyperlink button.
- E. Once you select the hyperlink button it will prompt you to insert the link that you would like to go to.
- F. If the link is not a weblink, but rather a form it needs to be uploaded to the server which will allow you to have a way
- to have a web link. You can then add it by making the url, for example: afrotc.arizona.edu/Forms/file, where file has been replaced with the filename.
- 8. Once you are finished push the “Submit” button to create the page. If this is not done the page will not be created.
- (This only creates the page. You still need to add it to the navigation (see Navigation Management)).
